Some guidelines for thinking about books, and sharing your reading experience
1. Why did you choose this book?
2. Did this book make you think, i.e. was your response mostly intellectual, or was the reading experience mostly emotional?
3. What do you think was the author’s intent in writing the book, i.e. to make a social, moral or political point, to provide a learning experience, simply to entertain, or something else?
4. Where did the context of the book fit into your life views and experiences? Why did it resonate with you? Did the impact of this book change your thinking in any way?
5. What kind of mood, setting or atmosphere did the author capture in the book?
6. Which of the characters in the book stole your heart, or with which did you identify?
7. What do you think motivated the main character(s) – envy, malice, honesty, integrity, love, hate, mischief?
8. What other books has the author written and which other ones have you read?
